Sisters are beautiful and even though they come from the same parents they can be so different and yet so similar! I experience this with my own sister but it's fun to see how alike and different the sisters we are privileged to photograph are. Alyssa and Isabella fall right into this category, we created the image of Alyssa back in 2007 when she was 1 year old, and their mom asked us to do a picture of Isabella in the same outfit this year when she turned one. Our goal was to try and show each girls' uniqueness and still get a picture that was similar enough to be hung on the wall next to Alyssa's. We went and photographed the session and watched the two of them run and play and when we got back to the studio and took a look at the images we were shocked to see how similar they were. Never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined that we would end up with an almost identical images of two different children almost three years apart!
We photographed our second wedding in Taos this year when Rico and Miranda were married in August at the Our Lady of Guadalupe. The ceremony was wonderful, lots of great moments to capture, and then the best part we got to go play under the tree of life and do pictures of just them. Our faithful blog stalkers may remember them as our "Love Story" contest winners, it was an honor to be there and we look forward to photographing in Taos again soon!
How is it that the guys always manage to make time for a shot?
One of the biggest wedding parties we have had in a while!
This was during the ceremony when Rico promised jayden that he would continue to take care of her and gave her a ring too-there wasn't a dry eye in the sanctuary!
We had a wonderful session with Matt and Melanie a while back, well, if you can forget about the horribly awful gnats! They were everywhere, we tried swatting at them, holding our hand up high so they wouldn't fly into our mouths, bug spray, nothing would work they were completely relentless. We all looked like a bunch of fools running and spitting and swatting, so we grabbed all the shots we needed and got out of there. I thought for sure we would be spending a great deal of time removing said pests from all the images but we were pleasantly surprised they chose not to make an appearance this time! Enjoy!
I'm pretty sure this was when Matt ate a gnat!
This is one of my favorites, and Matt and Melanie's too!
I had the opportunity to fly to Dallas to photograph Dalya and her wonderful family at the Fort Worth Botanical gardens. I thought that the Bio Park here was great, but I guess I should get out more! This place was incredible, themed gardens all over, we spent most of our time in the Japanese garden which was carpeted with lush green vines and grasses and lots of koi, which Dalya enjoyed feeding! It was so fun to see some friends, have a great session and still be home in time for dinner!
I photographed this session several months back when I was in the early stages of pregnancy and was horribly, horribly, sick and I have wanted to post this for ages but just felt too icky to do so. Now that I am past that stage I wanted to get it up because it was one that really did just make me happy! No, it's not perfect and may not win any awards but it tells a story about each child and captured who they were in that split second when someone gave them a tickle and they were happy! Enjoy! Paul and Dianna were married on 7-7-07 and we were lucky enough to be able to photograph that amazing event! And we were again thrilled when they called us to let us know they were expecting a baby girl! They brought Kristin into the studio when she was two weeks old and we again were blessed to photograph this newest lucky addition to their life!
