Durango: a nice place for a wedding!

We travel quite often for weddings and though we have crossed the country and are also shooting in Europe this year, we only recently had a chance to photograph a wedding in Durango, Co. And, it was amazing.
Lauren and Raul were married at the beautiful Silver Pick Lodge, just a mile south of the Durango Mountain Resort area. The lodge sits at the base of the mountain and the views are spectacular.
The ceremony was held under the Aspen, at the foot of a grass and moss covered hill. The reception was in the lodge with views of Engineer peak and several other jagged mountain tops.
Lauren and Raul chose to go full mountain feel with the reception; moss wrapped candles birch and aspen accents, just beautiful.
The weather was also perfect. It sprinkled on and off throughout the day. Just prior to the ceremony the clouds opened and the beautiful blue sky came through!
It was truly a great place for a wedding and a great couple to work with!
I also locked my keys in the car and we were pretty stressed about figuring how to get back to the hotel. Fortunately Laurens dad just happened to have his 'locked keys in the car' tools and rescued us!
Here are some of the images and also a video of the after session we shot the next morning... Thanks Raul for pushing through the hangover!!!
