Most of you, well anyone who lives in New Mexico, know about the joyous, lovely winds that can bless (plague)our New Mexican afternoons. We do have kite flying season, but it usually is brief. It's more often Kite flying away season.
It can be quite the gamble having a afternoon spring wedding outdoors in New Mexico. Either it will be beautiful weather or it will be blown away.
Desiree and I left our house in 30mph winds that gusted up to over 50mph. I remember wondering how we would be able to do anything in the wind. we got up to the house in the foothills of the the Sandia mountains to mild breezes. We were shocked at how the location of this particular house is set just so that the wind is dampened by a number of ridges that surround the house.
The wedding was in the backyard, a backyard that had a view of all of Albuquerque.
Distracted by decor turned the backyard patio into a sexy outdoor venue. We love backyard weddings, especially when as much thought and preparation goes into it as went into this one!!
